The first inspection

What we found on the original site

The verdict was needs a rebuild: no phone layout, so it couldn’t work well on phones without being rebuilt. These were the three things to fix first.

  1. 1

    It didn’t work on phones

Pages showed as a shrunken desktop layout that visitors had to pinch and zoom. Most local searches happen on a phone, and people who can’t read a page leave for the next result.

  2. 2

Google had little to go on

We counted 56 title, description and heading issues across 12 pages. Those are what Google reads to decide when to show a page, and what people see before choosing to click.

  3. 3

Customers searching nearby found someone else

Google showed map results for 6 of the 8 local searches we checked, and Webb Insurance wasn’t in them. The site ranked in the top 10 for just 1.

The rebuild

What we built

  • A new site on a layout built for phones first, with “Get a Quote” and “Talk to a Local Agent” right at the top.
  • 22 pages, up from 12, including a page for each kind of insurance Webb Insurance offers: auto, home, farm, commercial, life, health and umbrella.
  • A specific title and description on every page, naming the service and the area.
  • Business details Google can read, a secure connection and no broken links.
  • A shorter, easier address: webb-ins.com.
